Back by popular demand is the Cannon Golf Shot. Come see how you do launching your ball from the cannon!

It will be a beautiful fall Truckee golf day, which means it was the kind of day Coach Shaffer would enjoy!

We hope to see you there!

Coach Shaffer Memorial Participants, Supporters & Attendees,

Thank you for making this special day a huge success with your attendance and participation. It was a beautiful fall Truckee golf day, which means it was the kind of day Coach Shaffer would enjoy.

Over $14,000 in profit was cleared for the Truckee High School sports teams and clubs.

Thank you to Gray’s Crossing and Tahoe Mountain Club for hosting the tournament and contributing $2,000 in sponsorship to the cause, to all of the local businesses that sponsored holes, to all of the raffle prize donators and teams that put together raffle baskets and thank you to Zuri’s & Marty’s Café for coffee, danishes and sandwiches.

Thank you to the golf courses that put forth gift certificates to create the best golf auction prize ever assembled in Truckee.

Congratulations to the Winners!

The tournament featured formats of choice. Teams could either choose to play in a Shamble 2-Best Ball or a straight Scramble. Congratulations to The Coach Team – Coach Marc Smith, Coach Dave Shalvis, Coach Mike Bensley and Coach Dan - Shamble winners who absolutely tore it up shooting 121, two best balls. It wasn’t even close as they were “En Fuego”. On the Scramble side Truckee’s two best Scramble Captains, Ronnie Wood and Greg Christian, did their usual masterful job leading their respective teams to matching scores of 57. Wood’s team won in a 3-hole card off to take home the first prize of a 4-some Gift Certificate to Old Greenwood.

Of course huge applause for the Launching Fore Charity and the cannon! The cannon raised $560 and firing the cannon seemed to be the highlight story after play. If you are wondering what this is you will have to sign up next year to see and experience for yourself.

Thank you again to everyone and their support with the Coach Shaffer Memorial,
